Bacco

Legend has it that Lucifer shaped the Gulf of Naples by stealing a piece of Paradise. The tears that Jesus, saddened by the theft, shed on the volcano embellished the land. Thus the fertility of the soil makes the Vesuvian area a land of great wines, renowned for thousands of years. The cultivation area, included in the Vesuvius National Park, is divided into two parts: one includes the hill above 200 meters, characterized by sloping land, and the other is on the south-eastern side of the volcano, whose soils are better exposed. Vines thrive on both slopes, and the vines that most benefit from this chance perfection of climate and soil are the Piedirosso Pompeiano I.G.T. and Aglianico Campania I.G.T., which together produce the Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio D.O.C. red, and the very ancient Coda di Volpe Pompeiano I.G.T. vine which, together with Falanghina Campania I.G.T., produces the Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio D.O.C. white.
